Rich Roll became a personal hero of mine when I saw a picture of him shredded like vegan cole slaw on Pinterest next to a bloated version of himself a few years before. He has a great story, and his success is in part to living a Plant Life, and getting rid of drugs and alcohol (who knew?). He calls his diet/lifestyle "Plant Powered." A phenomenal inspiration, and just one of the many people out there that are a part of the Plant Life community.
Before embracing the Plant Life fully, this site gave me a ton of information and encouragement. It is so useful for broadening your vision of whole food options, with tons of data, numbers, and even history about each ingredient. Then there are recipes, and even videos on cooking techniques--since most of us don't speak the chef language (WTF does "blanch" mean other than the lady from Golden Girls? Oh, click here...sweet!). Most importantly: Each item is INTENTIONALLY easy to find in a regular grocery store! No, you do not need albino Swedish mushroom feathers in order to live the Plant Life. Before you google that, I made it up.
Awesome recipes--not all are fully plant-based or oil free--but that's what makes it great! You can use many for your transition, or change them a little if you feel like "treating" yourself. It has a good internal site search to help find recipes based on whatever is in your fridge, and the pictures are really nice. Best of all, if I can cook this ish, You can do it, too!
This has been my go to site for ordering hard to find Plant Life items: supplements, protein powders, bars, and even things like hemp seed that are far too expensive at Whole Foods. You can even set up monthly auto ordering, but note that you have to call to change it once it's set up. Yes, that is silly, but the good outweighs the bad!
No Meat Athlete is a great site for learning how to live not only a plant-based life but more specifically an ACTIVE plant-based life. There is a collection of podcasts and interviews on the website that'll knock your socks off. Definitely a good place for information and support!
